As slushy as it sounds, the wonderful thing about being a wedding photographer is meeting two people who just work together. Watching how they can predict each other’s sense of humour, reminding each other of the things they’ll know they’ll forget, and when “They’re probably doing…” turns out to be completely accurate. Seeing people getting married is a pleasure. Being around them afterwards as they celebrate their happiness with their friends and family is a privilege.
And so it was with Eilis and Richard – Eilis knowing just how Richard’s morning was panning out, they way they both started laughing about something only they knew about, and the huge grin on Richard’s face as Eilis walked down the aisle.
But let’s address the elephant in the room – that cake. A creation by the wonderful Dottie Bee’s Bakery, and based on the wedding’s theme of bugs and beasties. The attention to detail was stunning – worms, mushrooms, ladybirds, flowers. Unfortunately I didn’t get chance to sample it, mores the pity!
Their whole wedding day was a joy to share and to capture.
And a massive thank you to Sam, my 2nd in command for the day.
