With any wedding there’s always a few members of your family or certain special friends who will travel from far and wide to share your day. A 6 hour drive across the UK is nothing for them, and it just goes to show how important you are to other people. But to say that people come from far and wide is something of an understatement, especially when it comes to Laura and Chris’ wedding at Hemswell Court back in October.
When I first spoke to Laura, I suggested that we should meet up to have a brew and a natter about the wedding – to see what she and Chris had planned, and just generally have a chat. But they booked me about 2 weeks before they emigrated to Australia. And they’d be back about 2 weeks before the big day. Not only would their family and friends be travelling from far flung places to see them get married, both bride and groom would be flying half way around the globe to get married!
So when you get a lot of family and friends together who very rarely see each other, you make a big occasion of it. And you party, hard!
To say their wedding was a happy celebration wouldn’t be doing it justice. The chatting, the stories, smiles and hugs were all there. It really was a wonderful day.
